Abstract

Kazakh children's theater was formed later than other literary genres in modern Kazakh literature. Kazakh researchers attribute the birth of Kazakh theater to the ceremony held in the city of Semey in memory of the poet ten years after the death of Abay Kunanbayev. Although the staging of Muhtar Avezov's play named “Enlik-Kebek” in the village house of Aygerim, Abay's wife in Semey city in 1917, is accepted as the beginning of Kazakh theatre, some researchers consider the play “Golden Saka” staged in 1946 as the beginning of Kazakh children's theater. they accept. This play, written by M. Akınjanov, is also noteworthy as it is the first work of Kazakh children's theater to be staged. On the other hand, the play "School", written in 1934, was dedicated to children by the writer Jansugirov. Kazakh children's theater is largely based on folk culture as a source. In other words, the national elements in the plays were formed by the determining influence of the folk culture. We can classify the main subjects of Kazakh children's theater in the 20th century as Soviet ideology, fairy tales and fantastic elements, real events, natural events and peace. There are not many studies on Kazakh children's theater in the studies and researches on Kazakh literature. In this article, the birth, development and importance of Kazakh children's theater are mentioned in order to contribute to the field, and in the conclusion part, some ideas about the future of Kazakh children's theater are given.
